Simple Instructions To Ensure Simple Installation

For best results and quick confirmation, locate your PC near a known wireless signal 802.11b or g, 2.4GHz (most popular by far)

1. Turn on or boot up your PC (desktop or Laptop).

2. Disable the internal or installed Wi-Fi card. On a laptop there will be an external switch.

3. Plug in your new USB card’s cable or dongle if you have a mini card without USB cable. Be sure to cancel all Windows notices saying it found a new USB device.

4. Insert the drivers CD into your CD drive.

5. Wait for automatic run or select the CD’s setup file on the CD using Windows folder browser.

6. Select the driver’s language and the driver will self install after a few minutes. (language defaults to English) Or follow prompts and directions as asked by installer program.

7. Check on lower right for the new set of signal bars which confirm driver is fully installed.

8. Right-click on the signal bars to see your new control panel for the Realtek 8187L (Ralink 3070 for N model) device installed.

Possible Issues

Vista 64Bit, Quad Core, Multi-User PC. Get the latest Realtek 8187L drivers from our web page link.

If card does not work, or finds signals which transfer no data, be sure you did step 2. If you are not sure that windows USB notices were cancelled, go to Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, and remove the Realtek/Ralink driver, then start over with step 3. The driver MUST get a clean install. If after this the card still fails to perform, the latest drivers from our web page need to be tried before declaring the card defective.
